JBT Corporation acquires Dutch food items equipment provider FTNON

JBT Corporation has acquired Netherlands-based foods equipment and solutions professional FTNON for 32 million to expand within the fruit and vegetable market.

FTNON, which is headquartered in Almelo, serves the fresh-cut as well as thermal food market with a focus on peeling, steaming, de-coring, washing, cutting and blanching.

The firm also has practices in Delft and Horst in the Holland, Salinas in the US and Shanghai. It provides customers in the fruit, vegetable and pet food processing industrial sectors.

JBT CEO Tom Giacomini said: “FTNON delivers us entry into the contemporary cut equipment market, eft the rapidly expanding need for ready-to-eat fresh produce.

“It also can bring robotic technology for trimming, coring, and peeling fruits and vegetables C an invaluable capability that reduces customers’ labour requirements.

“As part of JBT, we assume opportunities to expand FTNON’s international penetration, grow its replacement business, and enhance success.”    

JBT added that the acquisition create annual revenue of approximately $30 million for you to JBT’s food-tech business.

Last year JBT grown in the US with the purchase of high-pressure processing systems provider Avure Technologies for $57 thousand.
